摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To easily and accurately perform measurement by measuring a faulty position by supplying prescribed currents with the same value in an original feed direction and in a direction opposite to that alternately from both terminal stations related to a short-circuited faulty circuit to the faulty line and measuring potential difference between both terminal stations. CONSTITUTION:Change-over switches 2 and 20 to supply a reverse constant current I1 from a station B and a station A alternately to the faulty line are provided. When a fault occurs on a line, the value of a feed voltage when a constant voltage in a direction opposite to the original feed direction is supplied from the terminal stations A and B related to the faulty line alternately to the faulty line is read. And the potential difference between both terminal stations A and B related to the faulty line is found, and distance from both terminal stations A and B related to the faulty line to a faulty contact is measured based on a constant current value, the known line resistance value of the line between both terminal stations A and B, and the resistance value per unit length. In such a way, it is possible to easily and accurately measure the faulty position in spite of short-circuited resistance.</p>
