PURPOSE:To prevent a plurality of words from making an error to such an extent that they cannot be corrected in 1 block, by recording each word containing in 1 block, in separate tracks. CONSTITUTION:An audio PCM signal is supplied to recording sytem input terminals L1-L24, is supplied to an error correcting encoder 2 which has jointly used a cross interleave and an error correcting code, is supplied to recording heads HR1-HR3 through a modulator DEM and recording amplifiers 41-43, and each word contaned in 1 block is recorded in separate tracks. In the same way, reproduction is executed. Dropout is scarcely generated at the same position of plural tracks in the longitudinal direction of a tape, therefore, it is possible to prevent a plurality of words from making an error to such an extent that they cannot be corrected in 1 block. |
