<p>PURPOSE:To connect the title memory to the other memory whose bit width is different, etc., without providing an additional circuit for a bit conversion and to obtain the memory which operates at a high speed and has large generality by providing a bit width control circuit. CONSTITUTION:The title memory is provided with a bit width control circuit consisting of shift registers 3a, 3b for reading out specific bit data and a shift control circuit 4 for generating a shift register control signal, based on a bit width setting signal. Accordingly, the memory can be connected easily to the other memory 1 whose bit width is different and a microprocessor 2 without providing an additional circuit for a bit conversion. In such a way, it is unnecessary to add a bit conversion use program and the semiconductor memory which operates at a high speed and has large generality can be obtained.</p> |
