PURPOSE:To obtain a photoconductive toner having sensitivity to light in near infrared region, and providing black and distinct picture with good reproducibility while maintaining the chargeability and sensitivity, etc., of the photoconductive toner by using a black dye and a sensitizing dyestuff expressed by A-(CH=CH)n -CH=B. CONSTITUTION:A black dye and a sensitizing dyestuff expressed by the formula: A-(CH=CH)n-CH=B are incorporated into a toner, where in an azo Au-contg. dye is used as the black dye, and (n) is an integer 1 or 2. In the formulas I and II, X is an H atom, halogen atom, nitro group, cyano group, etc.; Z is O, S, Se, Te, etc.; R1 is -COOH or an alkali metal salt thereof, -SO3H or an alkali metal salt thereof, alkyl group; R2 is -COOH, -SO3H which may be also an anion. Further, I<->, Cl<->, ClO4<->, or Br<-> is incorporated into the molecules in order to neutralize cations in a heterocyclic ring; (m) is an integer 1-7. Thus, a photoconductive toner having sensitivity to light in near infrared region and providing black and distinct picture with good reproducibility while maintaining the chargeability and sensitivity of the photoconductive toner, is obtd. |
