PURPOSE:To automatically execute program searching, etc. in a deck, by recording a count signal in advance in a magnetic tape, providing a count exclusive head on the deck, and comparing count of the tape with a designated count number. CONSTITUTION:On the deck side, not only a regular head but also a tape count read head are provided, and on the tape side, a tape count signal is recorded in advance in a part corresponding to the read head. For instance, in case of a 60min tape, at the beginning of the tape, a 100Hz signal is recorded, and subsequently an FM signal which increases frequency in proportion to length of the tape and becomes a 6,000Hz signal at the end is recorded in advance. On the deck side, a circuit for detecting this frequency and calculating the tape length is provided. On the deck side, a tape count designating switch is provided, a comparing circuit of count calculated from the tape side, and designated count is also provided, and music selection or program searching operation is executed automatically. |
