<p>PURPOSE: To enable sure connection by moving the front end of the parallel optical fiber juncture of a second structure body in two directions and butting the front end against the front end of the parallel optical fiber juncture of a first structural body. CONSTITUTION: A connector structural body 20 is constituted by assembling the structural bodies 22, 24. If a rectilinear cam 52 is relatively moved in a ZZ direction after the constitution, the optical fiber of a ribbon-like cable 34 floating in an XX direction comes into contact with the surface of a groove and is moved toward a stationary groove until the optical fiber 26 in the groove comes into contact therewith. Further, an interpose 38 having elasticity applies a small press between the optical fiber 26 and the groove. The end face of the optical fiber on the pad in a YY direction is glided in the YY direction along the groove so as to connect to the end face of the optical fiber 26 fixed on the card and is finally moved in the XX direction. As a result, the stronger pressure is applied on the fibers so as to maintain the secure contact.</p> |
