PURPOSE:To obtain a formed product of good appearance by such an arrangement wherein a piece of resin is cut out from an extruded rod of resin by 2 cutting blades which are arranged so that they meet to slightly overlap with each other for cutting at a position deviated considerably to one side from the center line of the cross-section of cutting and the smaller area side of the cut surface of the resin is brought to contact with the metal mold which is to be the rear side of the formed product. CONSTITUTION:Molten resin 12 is extruded in a rod and a piece is cut out in the direction perpendicular to the direction of extrusion by two blades 13, 14 so that it is squeezed between them. At this time, two blades 13, 14 are arranged so that a cut trace B is left at a position deviated considerably to one side from a center line C on a cut surface 17a of a blank 17 formed by the two blades when they are brought to meet each other as shown by chain lines in the figure. The cut surface 17a is divided into a large area portion 18 and a small area portion 19 with said cut trace B used as a boundary. Next, said blank 17, with its cubic portion including the small crosssectional area portion 19 brought to contact with a lower mold 21 which forms the rear side of the formed product, is processed by press forming. By this method, the cut trace will not be generated on the surface of the formed product. |
