PURPOSE:To apply superior partial plating to a plastic by applying a fluorine- type resist agent with a specific composition to the surface of a plastic to carry out partial plating and then dissolving and peeling off the resist agent by means of immersion in a freon-type solvent. CONSTITUTION:A fluorine-type or chlorine-type resist agent consisting, e.g., of a copolymer of fluorine-type monomer and acrylic ester is applied to the surface of a plastic to carry out partial plating. Subsequently, the above plastic is immersed in a freon-type solvent, such as freon 113 and freon 112, by which the resist agent is dissolved and peeled off. By this method, partial plating can be carried out without eroding the plastic, and further, the color tone and luster inherent in the plastic can be maintained in a nonplated part and a firm plating layer can be formed on a part to be plated. |
