The invention relates to a thrust reverser for a jet engine, particularly for an aircraft, including at least two doors 2, 3 each of which is mounted so that it can pivot about an axis 18 which is transverse to the jet of the engine, the trailing edges 7 of the said doors, contained in transverse planes which are inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis 19 of the engine, defining laterally, in the said folded position of the doors, notches of substantially triangular shape and having, in their respective planes, end parts 7A whose thickness is greater than that of their central part 7B.
<??>The reverser advantageously includes movable flaps 27 whose shape corresponds to that of the said notches and whose main outer 29 and inner 28 faces provide continuity respectively of the outer 31 and inner 30 faces of the said doors 2, 3 in order to end in a trailing edge 32 whose thickness is less than that of the said end parts 7A.
