There is provided a method for measuring the surface quality of a lens, which comprises the steps of directing a beam of substantially collimated electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength in the range 200nm to 2000nm onto the surface of the lens, and measuring the intensity of the specularly reflected light from the surface of the lens. |
