PURPOSE:To prevent waveform degradation from being generated by shielding the light of a low-order mode by a blind part which is provided in the internal part of an optical adapter. CONSTITUTION:An optical adapter 4 is provided between fiber in a laser diode side and GI fiber by a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method and the both fiber is connected. An optical blind part 7 to be composed of a shield body is provided in the central part of this optical adapter 4. Accordingly, light 5 of the low-order mode goes stright in the central part of a core 1 of the fiber in the laser diode side. However, the most part of the light is shielded by the blind part 7 in the optical adapter 4. Then, since the light 5 of the low- order mode is not incident to the GI fiber by the CVD method, the light of the low-order mode does not almost arrive at a reception side. Thus, by shielding the light of the low-order mode to go stright in the core 1 central part of the optical fiber by the blind part of the optical adapter 4, the degradation of the receiving waveform can be prevented from being generated in the reception side. |
