PURPOSE:To ensure a biocatalyst to adhere uniformly to a carrier by recovering a radially flowing culture medium being in contact with the carrier using a culture medium-recovering pipe passable for the culture medium but impassable for the biocatalyst to complete fungus culture. CONSTITUTION:A culture medium-recovering pipe 8 is constructed with a porous sintered SUS pipe, its pore size being defined within such a range as to be passable for a culture medium but impassable for a biocatalyst. The culture medium containing the biocatalyst fed via a nozzle 10 into a tank 2 is passed through the mesh 4 together with the biocatalyst in the radial direction over the entire range of the tank axial direction and allowed to flow while being in contact with the carrier within the mesh 4. And the biocatalyst is put to uniform fungus culture on the carrier, only the culture medium being recovered through the pipe 8. Thus the carrier can effectively be utilized, improving productivity.
