PURPOSE: To improve connection strength by coating component surfaces to be bonded with a particle-like material, preheating the coated component, arranging the preheated component in a casting die cast, and casting an aluminum alloy around the component. CONSTITUTION: For example, an iron piston ring carrying insert is cleaned by abrasive grit blast finish, and stainless steel powders are coated to an adequate thickness by plasma spraying. The coated ring carrying body is preheated up to an adequate temperature prior to arranging it in a female die of casting dies. Next, it is inserted into the female die and is cast around it by an aluminum alloy. Since it is unnecessary to immerse it in melted aluminum, an initial fragile layer of a compound between aluminum and iron metal is not formed, and bonding is improved. |
