PURPOSE:To realize compactness, high efficiency of power consumption and easy adjustment of optical axis alignment by arranging a plurality of laser rods and excitation lamps alternately in parallel and by providing a light reflection means which combines an edge face at one side of adjoining two laser rods to connect a plurality of laser rods optically in series. CONSTITUTION:Laser rods RD1, RD2, RD3 are arranged in parallel physically, and connected in series on the same optical axis by total reflection mirrors 16 to 22 to acquire a high output of three stage amplification. Adjustment of optical axis alignment can be made readily by changing a position or an angle of the mirrors 16 to 22. The laser rods RD1, RD2, RD3 and excitation lamps LA1 to LA4 are arranged in series alternately to make it possible to apply light from the both sides to each laser rod through the four excitation lamps. Power consumption efficiency is thereby improved and a device size can be reduced markedly. Easy adjustment of optical axis alignment can be realized in this way. |
