The cap (1) of a fountain pen is of the usual cylindrical shape with an inner cylinder (2) of resilient material. This inner cylinder has two sets of four longitudinal slots cut in its walls so that leaf springs are formed by the narrow strips (6, 7) between adjacent slots. The central portion of each of the strips (6) is curved inwards to form a notch (13). When the cap is pushed over the nib of the fountain pen these notches snap into a circumferential groove formed in the barrel of the pen close to the nib.
|
