PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of a battery and elongate the lasting time of the battery by a method wherein a microcomputer is operated in two kinds of a stand-by mode and a normal operation mode. CONSTITUTION:An oscillator 3A oscillates a constant frequency and the output thereof is inputted into a RQphi at the stand-by returning port of the microcomputer 3F. The microcomputer 3F may enter into the stand-by mode from the normally operating time by a software. When a condition in which the mode is entered into the stand-by mode once is desired to return into the original operating condition, it is effected by inputting an external signal into the specified port of the microcomputer 3F. The microcomputer is returned from the stand-by mode to the normal operation mode by an abnormal signal from an abnormality sensor 2, then the microcomputer effects a predetermined process at every times and thereafter it is shifted to the stand-by mode by the software.
