The present invention relates to a platform with a swivel for camera apparatus which can be oriented in elevation and in relative bearing. This platform comprises a spherical swivel 18 of large diameter mounted so that it can pivot inside a cage 16 and clamped between two shells 24, 26 which are mounted coaxially inside the cage, one sliding in the opening of the latter and the other fixed. The assembly may be urged with a clamping effect onto the swivel, by means of a manual clamping device 38, 40. The cage is mounted on a cylindrical base part 46 of vertical axis y-y, the panoramic movement being blocked by means of at least one radial clamping knob bearing on one of at least two elements 54, 56 which are inserted in a peripheral groove 60 of the base part. <IMAGE>
