Steering spindle seal - with sealing made of PTFE and carbon filler and elastomer clamping ring in groove, with annular supporting ring

A steering spindle (1) which passes through a housing (2) is sealed by a seal ring (4) and a clamping ring (5) in an annular groove (3). The clamping ring (5) is made of elastomer and the seal ring (4) is made of PTFE with a 22% carbon filler. The grooves (6) retain the abrasive wear. An axial supporting ring (7) is made of material softer than steel but harder than PTFE, e.g. of ULTRADUR (RTM). ADVANTAGE - Such a seal is suitable for high pressures of up to 100 bar.
