ARITHMETIC PROCESSING SYSTEM FOR PICTURE DATA

PURPOSE:To shorten the arithmetic processing time by performing a preprocessing arithmetic to magnify or reduce the process picture element data in the (x) and (y) directions of an xy orthogonal coordinate system and then computing the process picture element data. CONSTITUTION:The original picture element data arranged in a 2-dimensional form are magnified or reduced. In this case, all coordinate data are obtained in the (x) direction of an xy orthogonal coordinate system for the process picture element data obtained in an interpolating or thinning process defined as a preprocess. At the same time, the 1st calculation data is obtained with an arithmetic carried out to a constant for an interpolating or thinning arithmetic. While all coordinate data in the (y) direction are also obtained together with the 2nd calculation data obtained with an arithmetic performed to a constant related to the constant used for the interpolating or thinning arithmetic. Then an arithmetic is carried out among the 1st and 2nd calculation data obtained through the preprocesses and their relative original picture element data.
