PURPOSE: To easily produce a thin sheet of a Ti alloy by subjecting a sheet- shaped Ti alloy obtd. by plasma-spraying a Ti alloy with specified grain size on the surface of a rotary drum in a low pressure radio-frequency plasma spraying device to rolling. CONSTITUTION: Within a low pressure radio-frequency plasma spraying device 10 evacuated by a vacuum pump 50, a drum 62 around which foil of Mo or the like is coiled is rotated. The inside of a plasma gun 30 in the spraying device 10 is fed with a gas such as Ar, He, H2 or the like from a gas feeding device 40, and, electric power of ratio-frequency is applied to the plasma gun by an electric source 32 to generate plasma by the gas. Then, Ti alloy powder of 100 to 250μm grain size is fed from a raw material feeding device 42 to form a composite sheet in which a melted sedimentary layer 114 of the Ti alloy is formed on the Mo foil on the drum 62. The composite sheet 110 is separated from the drum 62, which is thereafter peeled to separate into a sheet 112 made of Mo and a sheet 114 made of a Ti alloy, subsequently, the Ti alloy- sprayted sheet 114 is rolled to reduce its thickness, by which thin Ti alloy foil having a smooth surface can be produced.
