In order to suspend counter ceilings or the like, a height-adjustable suspension apparatus (10) is proposed which comprises a U-shaped holding element (12), through the legs (16, 18, 20, 22) of which pass, for example, rod-shaped supporting elements (24, 26, 61, 63), by means of which the connection to the counter ceilings can be produced. The holding element also exhibits a deformation element (42) by which the supporting elements can be deformed in the region of the holding element in order thus to ensure a reliable final assembly. In order to permit a prior assembly beforehand, without the supporting elements sliding out of the holding element, a spring element (36) also functions in said holding element. <IMAGE>
