PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material with high sensitivity, favorable shelf stability, and excellent head matching properties by incorporating a specific ether compound and a wax having a melting point of 40-120 deg.C in a thermal recording material containing an electron donative colorless dye and an electron accepting compound. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material mainly composed of an electron donative colorless dye and an electron accepting compound, a specific ether compound shown by a general formula I and a wax having a melting point of 40 120 deg.C are used. In the formula, R1, R2 represent hydrogen atom, alkyl group, alkoxy group, and halogen atom, and X represents branched alkylene group. The ether compound shown by the formula I has a melting point of 70 to 150 deg.C, and 1,2-bis-(3-methoxyphenoxy) phenoxypropane or the like can be used therefor. As the wax having a melting point of 40-120 deg.C, a praffin wax, a microcrystalline wax, a montan wax, a fatty acid amide wax, and the like can be used. The wax is used in the amount of 5-200wt.% of the electron donative colorless dye. |
