Driver for connecting one end of a scraper device to a round-steel chain of a double-chain scraper conveyor

Only drivers having two projections which are arranged in a fork-like manner and can be inserted and pivoted in the free interior space of vertical chain links can be installed in tensioned round-steel chains driven via chain wheels. Drivers for round-steel chains driven via trough wheels can only be mounted when the chain is untensioned. The novel driver is to be suitable for tensioned round-steel chains and those guided via trough wheels. The two projections (9, 10) arranged in a fork-like manner engage around a horizontally pivotable vertical chain link (2a), have in each case one recess (11, 13) and engage in a fork-like manner around a chain link (2b, 2c) leading or running behind the vertical chain link, the recesses (11, 13) permitting vertical movement of the horizontal chain links (2b, 2c) about a horizontal articulation axis (a, b) and the recess (11), in the case of the leading projection (9), making possible horizontal swivelling from the tensioned round-steel chain. The main field of application is a double-chain scraper conveyor having round-steel chains driven via trough wheels. <IMAGE>
