The procedure consists of placing the waste material (3)into polyethylene trays (2) of sufficient thickness to prevent any perforation by the waste material. The trays are fitted, either manually or automatically, into apertures in a moving support (1) and are filled by a manually-operated system. After filling, the waste material is treated with a disinfectant, subjected to a vacuum, and sealed by a layer of film material (6), applied automatically or manually from a roll. The film is welded in place by an electrical apparatus (7) with a welding strip (8). In a variant the sealing film can be replaced by a fitted and sealed lid. The waste material is then stored in the trays for disposal.
