APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROBLEM DIAGNOSIS IN DATA COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PURPOSE: To efficiently separate and diagnose a fault by receiving a response characteristic to a device from a device on a communication link and in correspondence to this, further generating a command characteristic to the device on the communication link, or generating a diagnostic response to problem identification which is generic and noncharacteristic to the device to a request control mechanism. CONSTITUTION: An interconnecting link 2 transports an inquiry proper to a generic non device or response and a request from a service system 3, and the system 3 has intermediate control and a conversion function and generates a request or inquiry proper to a device to a communication network. A link connecting subsystem management mechanism(LCSM) 3 can successively output a command proper to the device to a link connecting component(LCC) 10 which constitutes a link that needs problem determination. The LCSM 3 analyzes the conditions of a physical object system device, and generates an appropriate diagnosis proper to the device and a control command which are sent to an object system device so as to analyze data response that is returned from the LCC 10. Thereby, separation and diagnosis of faults can efficiently be performed.
