To reduce the fitting and change-over times of the hazard warning installations of motor cycles, the direction indicator, which is already present, is used as hazard warning indicator and the direction indicator switch, which is already present, is used as operating switch. After a short changeover of the direction indicator switch from the right side to the left the hazard warning installation turns on the indicator lamps of the right side of the vehicle always when the indicator lamps of the left side of the vehicle are turned on by the turn-indicator lamp already present. This process is cancelled by a resetting part in the hazard warning installation when the direction indicator switch is set to the position "off" or "right".
