<p>PURPOSE:To preferentially perform picture reception even if the recording paper is exhausted by causing a picture memory to substitutively receive a picture when a recorder is in an unoperatable state and received picture data cannot be recorded and outputted. CONSTITUTION:When an incoming call arrives and picture reception is performed in a state where transmitting picture data are stored in a memory 1c, the remaining quantity of recording paper 61 is checked, and when the remaining quantity is not sufficient, the reception is not terminated as an error as in the conventional example, but the memory 1c is caused to substitutively receive the picture data successively. When the free area of the memory 1c is completely exhausted, the memory continues the substitutive reception by clearing the area already storing the transmitting data. Therefore, the data reception is preferentially performed by postponing the transmission of the picture of the original from this device side which can be performed any time and a precious data receiving chance can be secured.</p> |
