The present invention relates to a method for the prevention of graft rejection, and to the preparation of a pharmaceutical prepartion for the treatment of patients having undergone transplantation of various organs and tissue. The preparation contains a vitamin D metabolite or analogue which has only moderate activity on the calcium metabolism when compared to 1 alpha ,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, but has retained the ability to activate receptors for 1 alpha ,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 not associated with calcium absorption. |
