PURPOSE:To enable narrow-bandwidth demultiplexing to a large number of channels by arranging etalons which reflected or transmitted light from before and behind one after another and transmitting light beam which differ in wavelength from respective etalons. CONSTITUTION:Two equal etalon plates E0X and E0' are put slightly slantingly opposite each other and light is made incident on them, so that transmitted light beams T1, T2... have transmission spectra shown by panels T1, T2.... Then when light is made incident on two etalons E1 and E' which are at a slightly short distance so as to extract light beams shown by L11, L12..., interference fringes whose intervals are wider than the panel T1 are obtained as shown by T11, T12... and a peak position can be made coincident by adjusting the incidence angle and distance. Therefore, light exiting from the T11 finally is only light transmitted through the part L11 and light from the T11 is light beams transmitted through L12..., so that six waves are demultiplexed as to T1 and 36 waves in total are separated up to T6. |
