PURPOSE:To obtain a herbicidal composition for weeds in paddy fields having excellent actions by synergistic effects free from damage to rice plants by combining 2-benzothiazol-2-yloxy-N-methylacetanilide with 3,7-dichloro-8- quinolinecarboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:2-Benzothiazol-2-yloxy-N-methylacetanilide is combined with 3,7-dichloro-8-quinolinecarboxylic acid in the ratio of preferably 1:(0.2-0.8) (pt.wt.) to give a herbicidal composition. For example, in controlling barnyard grass, proper application width is extended, the composition is slightly affected by rain, etc., residual effects can be maintained and the composition shows extremely more excellent effects compared with separative use of each component. The herbicidal composition can be applied before or after germination of plant. The composition has extremely wide herbicidal spectrum effective against various kinds of weeds. |
