<p>PURPOSE:To reduce a concn. of sodium hypochlorite and to prevent diffusion of chlorine odor by treating a gas having malodor of high intensity primarily in a washing tower using a slurry of active carbon, then treating in an acid washing tower, and a sodium hypochlorite washing tower. CONSTITUTION:A gas X having high intensity of malodor is fed to a washing tower 11 using alkali and active carbon slurry, where H2S in the gas X is removed by spraying an aq. soln. of NaOH 12 from a spray nozzle 13. A reaction product of H2S with NaOH is transported to a precipitation tank 15, where a reaction is proceeded further by the catalytic effect of powdery active carbon 16 charged to the precipitation tank 15. A primary treated gas Y discharged from the washing tower 11 is fed to an acid washing tower 14 together with malodor P of intermediate intensity, where NH3 and amines are removed by spraying hydrochloric acid 17. Then, a secondary treated gas Z is fed to an alkali-sodium hypochlorite washing tower 18, where residual H2S, methyl mercaptan, methyl sulfide in the gas are removed by spraying aq. soln. of NaOH 19 and sodium hypochlorite 20, and washed gas is discharged into atmospheric air through a gas/liquid separator 21.</p> |
