Beta-agonist carbostyril derivatives having the formula <IMAGE> wherein X may be the ortho, meta or para position and is selected from the group consisting of halogen, amino and substituted and unsubstituted lower alkanoylamino having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and complexes thereof.
