PURPOSE: To enable a continuously variable control by adjusting the flow of a viscous fluid between shear surfaces by the selective drive of a valve element at an actuator device and feedback controlling by the monitoring of the absolute number of rotation of one side member. CONSTITUTION: When the plate member 46 of a clutch member 42 is rotated against a cover assembly 60 through an input shaft 18 by an engine rotation, a pump operation is produced and the pressure in the operation chamber 100 is increased locally and a viscous fluid is discharged to a fluid storing chamber 106 through a hole 96 and return route hole 110 and further, returned to the operation chamber 100 through the hole 200 of a valve member 198 and the clutch is engaged through the shear surfaces 48, 98 and the rotation of a fan 34 is increased. This rotation is detected by the tooth of an armature 152 and a magnetic pickup 166 and controls the electrification to an induction coil 174 by the control device correspondingly thereto and changes the opening of the hole 200 of the valve member 198 and feedback controls the rotation of the fan 34. Thus, the clutch can be controlled variably and continuously. |
