A device for artificial respiration comprises a compressible bladder with at least one opening 2 which is connected, via a valve arrangement, to the patient's airways. In order to force air into the airways, the bladder is able to return to the expanded position for drawing in new air. To permit single use and packing of the device with minimum space requirements, the bladder is made of a thin foil or film material and has on the inside or outside, or integrated in its wall, at least one swelling body 5 made of a flexible and optionally elastic material and in the form of an inflatable channel system which, in the inflated state, maintains the non- self-supporting bladder in the expanded state. <IMAGE> |
