A fastener 7 for mounting a sink 1 in opening 5 in worktop 6 comprises holder 9 attachable to the sink by arm 18, clamp 10 threadably engaged with the holder and engageable with the underside of the worktop, the holder comprising a flexible joint 15 and guide surface 20, the arrangement being such that, in use, the sink is guided by the surface into the opening when it is lowered into it, the surface eventually adopting a position against the inside 5a of the opening.
