High performance, pigmented, pressure-sensitive tape - with high conformity and no reduced creep

The tapes consist of a carrier layer of 0.25-2.0 mm thickness with an adhesive polymer base, 10-20 vol.% microspheres and at least one pigment, pref. up to 5 wt.% of pyrolytic silica. Pref. there is a cover layer of adhesive free from microspheres on both sides of the carrier, in amt. of 25-125 g/m2. They are made by preparing an adhesive compsn. from an adhesive polymer base, filler materials and solvent, passing it through a twin-screw extruder, removing the solvent in one or more units, and extruding the solvent-free compsn. as the carrier layer, opt. together with cover layers.
