PURPOSE: To attain smooth rotation of a pedal by forming, at the sole part of a pedal means in which a rotating means is embedded, a sliding engagement means slidable along a guard groove formed at the sole part, so that the point to which the effort of a foot is applied may be displaced freely. CONSTITUTION: A pedal means A journaled onto the pedal crank of a bicycle is formed so as to involve a sole part 1 in which a rotating shaft means 2 is embedded in a lateral direction. A sliding engagement means B in which a dovetail-shaped fin 5' is engaged with a dovetail-shaped guide groove 3 formed at the sole 1 is formed inside the sole part 1. At the time of operating the bicycle, it is thus possible to depress the pedal smoothly with the point to which the effort of a foot is applied displaced freely when the pedal crank is rotated with the foot of a cyclist placed on the sliding engagement means B. |
