<p>The present invention describes a synergistic drug combination as an effective inhibitor of viral infection, particularly of retroviral infection. The drug combination may be an antiviral drug, such as azidothymidine, 21, 31-dideozycytidine or its triphosphate, and a potentiating agent, such as dipyridamole. The antiviral drug, potentiating agent or a combination of them may be encapsulated in liposomes. The drug combination is useful in treating or preventing AIDS and other HIV-related syndromes.</p> |
