PURPOSE:To obviate the degradation in the sensitivity of the photosensitive material during preservation and the increase of fogging thereof by using an emulsion prepd. by adding a water soluble iodide thereto before a spectral sensitizing dye is adsorbed thereon. CONSTITUTION:The title photosensitive material is formed with one layer of the silver halide emulsion layer which is spectrally sensitized to >=750nm. In addition, the emulsion prepd. by adding the water soluble iodide (e.g. NaI) thereto before the spectral sensitizing dye (e.g. the red sensitizing dye expressed by the formula) is adsorbed thereon is used for the emulsion layer. In the formu la, Z1, Z2 denote the nonmetallic atom group necessary for forming a desired nucleus; R1, R2 denote an aliphat. group; Z2 denote a 5--6-membered carbon ring; A denotes H when Z2 is 6-membered and -N(-R5)(-R6), etc., when Z2 is 5-membered; R5, R6 denote alkyl of 1-12C, etc., X(-) denotes anion; n denotes 1, 2. The addition of a desired fogging preventive agent or stabilizer to the photosensitive material is possible as well. |
