PURPOSE:To improve all of the contrast at every R, G, and B with comparatively simple constitution by superposing a TN type liquid crystal cell having the same cell gap as that of a liquid crystal cell for Blue and with the same twist angle of a liquid crystal molecule and a reverse twisted direction on the liquid crystal cell for Blue. CONSTITUTION:The title device is formed in such structure that the TN type liquid crystal cell having the same cell gap as that of the liquid crystal cell for Blue and with the same twist angle of the liquid crystal molecule and the reverse twisted direction is superposed on the liquid crystal cell for Blue. Thereby, since the rotatory dispersion of the liquid crystal cell for Blue light in which it is hard to obtain high contrast when it is used as a single cell can be compensated by a superposed TN liquid crystal cell, the light leakage of the light deviated a little from the peak of the Blue light can be eliminated, and it is possible to realize a projection type full-color liquid crystal display device with high contrast for all of the R, G, and B and with superior color reproducibility. |
