The knee articulation device comprises a clevis 1 which receives and immobilises, at its bottom, a tube 3 constituting the lower leg segment, and at its top a spindle 9 on which pivots a braking lever 6 which is itself fitted with a spindle 16 constituting the main articulation on which is mounted a rocker member 15 which receives and immobilises a lateral, angulation and rotational adjustment device on which is fixed a thigh support SC; the rocker member furthermore comprises a screw 29 on which is attached a strap 28 for elastically returning the leg segment, the latter bears on one radius of the lever 6 then passes through the clevis 1 through a hole 60, whilst bearing on a surface 27 which acts as an anvil against which a shank 26 of the lever 6 locks it when a force is exerted on the rocker member. The rocker member comprises a braking adjustment screw 22; the locking pressure is adjusted by means of a stop 42; the strap 28 is attached onto an elastic tie 32 fixed on a plate 35 which is rigidly attached to a washer 36 for adjusting the tension and for centring in the tube 3. <IMAGE>
