Cushioned article (10) built into a support structure, such as a seat, armrest, headrest or the like, comprising a stuffed middle made of a flammable polymer foam (20) and a barrier (30) which protects this flammable middle from fire. The cushioned article according to the invention is characterised in that the flame-resistant barrier (30) is made, at least in part (31, 32), of cellular polyphosphazene, and in that the flame-resistant barrier comprises means ensuring an intimate bond with the stuffed middle to be protected.
