<p>To secure a vehicle, a movable lock device (11,12) engages a component rotatably connected to the vehicle crankshaft (5), e.g. the flywheel (2), and is moved to its locked position by a spring (14). An electrical power source (15) moves the lock device to its freed position, and is in turn activated by a code card or key activating a control part. A security device blocks the electrical power source irreversibly on receipt of signals not determined by the code card or key, and the control part. The security device is positioned so that the blocking effect on the electrical power source can only be cancelled by workshop intervention, and incorporates a switch fitted inside the lock device housing (10). A control signal transmitted by the control part to the lock device has lower voltage than that of the vehicle battery/generator. The signal is an AC voltage or a pulsating DC voltage, and is superimposed on that of the vehicle battery/generator. (Provisional basic advised week 89/49).</p> |
