The self priming multi-stage pump assembly consists of a set of rotors followed by an additional pump stage which has a priming nozzle. The self priming stage is followed by a separating chamber. Channels extend from the separating chamber into the inner space of the glandless motor as well as to the outlet of the pump. The shaft which connects the rotor of the motor to the pump rotor is hollow, at least in the area between the pump outlet opening and the separating area. The hollow shaft has further channels which run from the separating area to the inside of the motor.
