Height-measuring and marking-out machine for the three-dimensional measurement of workpieces, consisting of a machine base and a machine column which is located at right angles to the marking table and on which a compound rest is guided vertically and on whose transverse arm a measuring tool is provided. The measuring tool is connected as a recording system to an evaluation electronic system (computer) and designed for the contactless measurement of workpieces. If required, arbitrary contours, distance measurements or also measurements of hot or similar materials can be carried out without difficulty. The recording system has means for generating focal planes. The focal planes are displaced starting from a reference point on the corresponding measurement axis and are detected and evaluated by the evaluation electronic system.
