PNEUMATIC TIRE USING ELASTOMER COMPOSITE MATERIAL REINFORCED AND VULCANIZED BY ARAMID PULP AND MANUFACTURE OF SAID COMPOSITE MATERIAL

PURPOSE: To improve tire reinforcing performance by pre-mixing aramid pulp composed of a truck portion having a specified length L, diameter D and aspect ratio L/D, and fibrils extending outwardly from the trunk and granular reinforcing material, adding elastomers thereto to be formed into a sheet and molded into a tire. CONSTITUTION: Aramid fibers are composed of a trunk portion 22 having a length of about 0.2-5 mm, a diameter of about 0.005-0.02 mm and an aspect ratio greater than about 100, and plural fibrils 24 extending outwardly from the trunk portion 22 over the full length and having diameters smaller than the trunk diameter. The surface area of the fibers is from about 4 to about 20 m<2> /g. Some of granular reinforcing agent is mixed with the total amount of the aramid fibers 20 to make a pre-mix. About 0.2-2 by weight ratio of the aramid fibers 20 is mixed with 100 of the elastomers and calendared to prepare a composite material having polarity. A tire is molded by the composite material.
