PURPOSE:To improve superconductive characteristic by mixing two material oxides of specific compositional ratios together, processing with press forming, sintering to form a complex body, removing a metallic pipe after diameter reduction process, and applying heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:A material of the compositional ratio of A2B1Cu1O5 and a material of the compositional ratio of B3Cu5Oy (where y=5-15) are mixed together with the ratio of (1+X):1 (where o<X<=0.5). The mixture is press- formed to obtain a press-formed body which is sintered to obtain a precursor of an oxide-based superconductor. The precursor is packed into a metallic pipe to form a complex body and the diameter of which is reduced. After the diameter reducing process, the metallic pipe is removed. The product is heat treated. (The element A is in the group IIIa and the element B is in the group IIa). This makes it possible to obtain an oxide-based superconductor having excellent superconductive characteristic such as the critical current with a high efficiency. |
