PURPOSE:To permit the selection and change of a variety of driving characteristics and obtain the driving characteristic suitable for the operation state by permitting an engine output adjusting means to be selected in four kinds of speed change patterns. CONSTITUTION:An output control means 1 controls the output adjusting means such as the throttle valve 13, etc., of an engine 11 according to the characteristic set for an accelerator operation quantity. A memory means 3 memories two kinds of operation characteristics of high and low outputs of the output adjusting means for the accelerator operation quantity and two kinds of speed change patterns having different shift positions. A mode setting means 4 performs setting from a memory means 3 so that the first and second modes which can be obtained as the high output operation characteristic by selecting the speed change pattern of the output adjusting means and the third and fourth modes obtained as the low output operation characteristic can be selected.
