<p>A film-strip feed mechanism in a film projector comprises reels, driven by a rewind motor and arranged on either side of a film gate; feed and take-up sprockets arranged between the reels and the film gate, which produce film loops on either side of the film gate; a film-strip feed device between the feed and take-up sprockets; and a film channel for guiding the film inserted in the projector. After the film (1) is inserted in the open film channel, the film-strip feed device (2) and one of the feed and take-up sprockets (3, 4) engage in the film (1) and the film-strip feed device (2) is driven at a higher speed than the feed and take-up sprockets (3, 4) until a first film loop of predetermined length is formed between the film-strip feed device (2) and the feed and take-up sprocket (3 or 4). The other sprocket (4 or 3) then engages in the film (1) and the film-strip feed device (2) is driven at a speed of rotation and/or in a direction of rotation such that a part of the first film loop is advanced to form a second film loop on the other side of the film gate (8).</p> |
