<p>MECHANISM FOR ASSISTING THE CLOSING OF A DOOR OF A MOTOR VEHICLE The mechanism comprises: a lever pivotally mounted on a fixed pin at one of the ends of the lever, a fork member rotatively mounted on a pin fixed to the lever, the fork member being adapted to receive a keeper fixed to a centre post of the body of the vehicle, this fork member being provided with an elastically yieldable element for returning it to its position in which it is disengaged from the keeper, a device for locking the fork member to the keeper during the pivoting of the lever, the locking being effected before the pivoting of the lever, and a cam rotatable about a fixed pin and capable of being driven in rotation by a motor which is automatically started up by the locking of the fork member at the beginning of the closing travel of the door.</p> |
